Drawn to Illinois College for its close-knit environment, Henry found a second home that shaped both her career and personal life. “I chose Illinois College because it felt like home,” she shares, reflecting on her decision to attend the college that would eventually guide her professional path. 

Henry’s involvement in Jacksonville Main Street began during her student years, volunteering for community events before the downtown revitalization efforts took off. The support she received from Illinois College’s communication and rhetorical studies program played a pivotal role in her career development. “My education at Illinois College not only prepared me for my career path, but with the support of my professors, I was placed in an internship that led me to my career path that I’m in today,” Henry recalls. 

Today, as a leading voice in Jacksonville’s ongoing growth, Henry continues to draw from her college experiences. “Illinois College plays a critical role in the culture of our community,” she says, underscoring the College’s influence in shaping Jacksonville’s educational, historical, and cultural landscape. From lifelong friendships to meeting her husband, Illinois College provided Henry with the foundation to become a dedicated advocate for her community’s development and success.
