Donor impact fuels internships for IC students

Adam Passmore ’26, a sports management major at Illinois College, gained career-defining experience with the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, thanks to donor-supported internship opportunities.

This past summer, Adam immersed himself in game-day operations, sales, and fan engagement.

Through donor generosity, Adam accessed specialized sales training, strengthening his ability to “sell himself” — a skill he sees as pivotal for his future in sports management. During his time with the Lucky Horseshoes, Adam honed his problem-solving and teamwork skills in the fast-paced environment of a Prospect League team.

Adam credits this internship for clarifying his career path and urges IC students to seize similar opportunities. “It’s not just for sports management majors. This experience is valuable for anyone interested in business, marketing, or sales.”

Donor support ensures that IC students like Adam can access transformative internships, bridging academics and real-world learning while preparing them for impactful careers.
