Lauren majored in biology and chemistry, and minored in art. She is pursuing a master’s degree in marine biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
I began to take classes out of genuine interest — not just because they were required. And that’s what I realized this is all about. See, when people advertise that college is four years of having the time of your life, they tend to get a pretty bad rap. But they’re absolutely right. College is about having fun. It’s about finding something that excites you, keeps you up at night and genuinely interests you — your passion. Without Illinois College and its liberal arts education, trip courses, and faculty that invest in their students, I cannot say that I would have found my passion. Overall, my experience at Illinois College has changed me.
