Illinois College is expanding its academic offerings with two dynamic business majors — digital marketing and financial planning — set to launch in fall 2025.

These programs, designed to prepare students for thriving industries, join the College’s ten existing business majors as part of its commitment to innovation and career readiness.

Digital marketing and financial planning are two of the fastest-growing fields in today’s job market. The new majors combine business fundamentals with hands-on experiences, such as real-world projects and industry simulations, equipping students with the skills employers demand.

“We ensure IC students graduate with the expertise they need to excel in a variety of dynamic careers,” said Michael Harden, business department chair.

This focus on practical, career-ready education is central to Illinois College’s mission. From recent additions like nursing and mechanical engineering to agribusiness, IC continues to develop programs that align with workforce needs. Provost Catharine O’Connell highlights how the College blends its tradition of critical thinking and problem-solving with professional preparation to ensure lifelong success for students.
