Bio

Lisa Udel is Associate Professor of English and co-founder of the Gender and Women’s Studies program at Illinois College. She is passionate about literature that explores our psychological and spiritual relationships with place. In her teaching, she enjoys helping students identify their passions and talents, working with them to develop and refine those talents into lifelong goals, then watching them affect their world in meaningful ways.

What Students Say
When I started missing classes, Professor Udel noticed and pulled me in for a mandatory meeting. In that meeting, she took time to get to know me. She let me know that I was in danger of failing then took time to help me catch up. Because of her, I have seen so much growth in myself and perhaps my grade too!
