100th Anniversary of the Quarterly
In preparation for this edition, we reviewed each edition of the Quarterly going back to the very first magazine, more than 100 years ago. It was incredible to see the Hilltop and campus life evolve over the course of a century.
The Quarterly not only connects alumni and shares their achievements – it has documented the history of Illinois College since December 1922. From new construction and technology to added academic programs and varsity sports, the College has seen many vital, innovative changes in 100 years, while staying the same in some of the ways that matter most: Illinois College is a home to caring faculty and staff, a vibrant campus life and community, and a robust academic tradition.
We have included as much information as possible from the original photo captions and stories to accompany the photos featured in this edition. Additionally, we gathered many more photos than could fit into a print magazine, so we hope that you the image galleries in this online edition.
Sincerely,
The Quarterly Staff
