IC Online adds healthcare management to growing list of programs

8.23.2021

Illinois College will now offer a fully online degree in healthcare management.

The new program will give students the essential business and management skills needed for an in-demand healthcare leadership career, as well as the flexibility to work toward their degree while working full-time in the healthcare industry.

Students will gain marketable skills and training, preparing them to meet the urgent need for leadership in healthcare.

“Given the continued growth in the U.S. healthcare industry, there is a growing need for healthcare management professionals,” notes Kevin Klein, professor of economics and business department chair. “Illinois College's healthcare management program is ideal for working healthcare professionals who want to continue, or advance into, leadership positions in the healthcare industry.”

Healthcare management is projected to expand by 32% through 2029, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This growth is expected to create more than 133,000 positions for healthcare administration and management professionals.

The new healthcare management degree joins IC’s existing online and on-campus programs available to students interested in careers in healthcare. The College offers a flexible online RN to BSN program, in addition to on-campus programs that include a traditional four-year nursing program and majors like health sciences and kinesiology and exercise science.

IC Online programs are designed for students in need of a flexible class schedule that allows them to balance their responsibilities, while advancing their careers and reaping the benefits of an Illinois College education.
