We work with our students to best fit the desired program they would like to pursue in health professions such as a nurse, physician's assistant, physical therapist and more. While the articulations below are agreements with the following institutions, we will always explore your options to further your career and Graduate READY.
Nursing Articulations
Illinois College offers the option to earn your BSN on campus through our four-year nursing program which is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), as well as the option to earn an MSN through our online program. Below you will find other agreements the College has with our partner schools to help you find the best path towards your education goals.
St. John's College of Nursing -- 2+2
Students spend two years at Illinois College and transition to coursework at St. John’s College of Nursing for years three and four. Graduates of the program will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from St. John’s and a Bachelor of Arts degree in health sciences from IC. Nursing students in the program will have the benefit of academic innovation from both campuses, with coursework that emphasizes the critical thinking and communication skills needed to be a successful nurse and access to St. John's state-of-the-art simulation center. While completing coursework in Springfield, students will continue to have the option to live in Jacksonville in IC’s campus housing and participate in extracurricular activities for all four years.
Rush School of Nursing in Chicago, IL -- 4+2
Students attend IC and graduate after 4 years. During their time at IC, they have the opportunity to apply to Rush for a master’s in nursing (MSN) which they receive after 2 years there. Students may choose to become an RN or a CNL (clinical nurse leader) while at Rush. Students may also stay to get a DNP (doctor of nursing practice) and become a nurse practitioner as well.There are guaranteed seats for IC students.
Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO -- 4+2
Students attend IC and graduate after 4 years. During their time at IC, they have the opportunity to apply to St. Louis University for a master’s in nursing (MSN) which they receive after 2 years there. Students may choose to become an RN or a CNL (clinical nurse leader) while at SLU. There are guaranteed seats for IC students.
Occupational Therapy
Washington University in St. Louis, MO -- 3+2/3+3
Students attend IC for 3 years, major in Health Sciences then transfer to WUSTL for either their master’s or doctorate in occupational therapy.
Clinical Lab Science/Medical Lab Technician
St. Francis OSF in Peoria, IL-- 3+1
Students attend IC for 3 years then transfer to OSF for a year for technical training for become a medical lab technician.
Athletic Training
Culver-Stockton in Canton, MO -- 4+2
Students attend IC and graduate after 4 years. During their time at IC, they have the opportunity to apply to C-S for a master’s in athletic training (MAT) which they receive after 2 years there. There are guaranteed seats for IC students.
