IC extends enrollment deposit deadline, expands virtual campus visit opportunities

4.01.2020

Illinois College is extending the deadline for admitted students to make an enrollment deposit to June 1. The enrollment deposit amount has also been reduced from $200 to $50.

According to Evan Wilson '01, dean of admission and student financial services, the change from the traditional May 1 deadline will give students who have been affected by the global pandemic more time to consider their options. Students will have an additional 30 days to make their college decision with guaranteed on-campus housing, scholarships and financial aid.

“We realize that many families are in an anxious state right now,” Wilson said. “Some of the factors they were considering as part of their decision may have changed as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.”

Wilson specified that students’ financial circumstances and their preference for variables such as school size and distance from home could change during this uncertain time. To further ease the burden on students, Illinois College is accepting unofficial transcripts and test score reports for those who cannot access official records due to school closures.

The Illinois College admission team is offering daily virtual visits with a guided online campus tour and a virtual meeting with an admission counselor. Admissions counselors are available to answer questions for all prospective students including those considering a transfer. More about virtual campus visits can be found here

Several admission events planned to be on campus have been converted to virtual events, including upcoming READY, Set, Go! registration days. Sessions will begin on April 18. Students must be deposited to attend and complete online registration for fall classes.
