Accepting, reducing, or declining your student loans
Acceptance Form
All students who have been offered federal students loans need to submit an acceptance form to the Office of Student Financial Services letting us know what your decision regarding your student loans is; whether you decide to accept all of your loans, reduce some of your loans, or decline some or all of your loans. Illinois College uses an electronic acceptance form.
- Returning students: You will submit your Financial Aid Acceptance Form through Connect 2. Log into Connect2 and click on the Students tab. You will find the link to the online Financial Aid Acceptance Form within the Financial Aid page.
- New students: You will submit your Financial Aid Acceptance Form through your Admissions portal. Once you log into the portal, simply complete and submit the form to accept your aid.
Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note
All first time borrowers are required to complete entrance counseling and a Master Promissory Note (MPN) to accept their loans with the U.S. Department of Education.
- Federal Direct Loans: The Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and MPN are completed online. You will need to log into studentaid.gov using your FSA ID. We will be notified once you have completed it.
