Collin White '23
All of my advisors and faculty mentors have had a huge impact on me during my time at Illinois College.
“While challenging, they kept me engaged in my classes and pushed me to think differently about projects and assignments. I even went on a BreakAway with one of my major advisors who encouraged me to go.”
After graduation and traveling to the country of Jordan with an IC BreakAway, agribusiness management major Collin White ’23 returned to his family farm in Mason County to farm alongside his parents and siblings. White minored in economics and business administration.
In addition to having access to an innovative curriculum and expert faculty in the agribusiness management program, as well as the well-rounded academic experience IC is known for, Collin was further prepared for a career in agriculture with internships with Agrigold and Fornoff Fertilizer.
He successfully completed the IC Scholars Honors Program, was a student-athlete on the track and field and cross country teams, and was a member of the debate and speech team, the investment club and IC Aggies, and served as president of the state organization, Illinois Professional Agriculture Students. Collin was very involved in FFA leadership and as a member and volunteer. He also worked as a peer mentor in the Office of Career Readiness and Experiential Learning and as an IC Ambassador.
“I loved being able to walk around campus and see someone to say ‘hi’ to. It was the everyday interactions with friends and the small moments studying in The Hub, at practice or just passing by that made the experience at IC so memorable.”
