By award-winning author and Midwest native Jim Leonard, Anatomy of Gray is a story told by a 19th-century young woman, June, coming to terms with the loss of her father and praying for a doctor to come to their little town so no one else has to suffer needlessly. Enter Galen Gray, flying in on his hot air balloon in the middle of a tornado. His arrival and care for the good people of Gray, Indiana initially seems providential given their shared name.

But when a mysterious plague begins to spread, the townspeople's trust in the newcomer splinters, threatening violence. They must decide whom to trust and how to protect their community.
