Beginning in early February, students will complete tax returns by appointment,Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Lincoln Land Community College in Jacksonville.

To qualify, participants must make less than $60,000 in annual income. Participants will have both federal and state tax returns prepared and electronically filed for free prior to the April 15 deadline.

John Rush, the coordinator of the program and associate professor of accounting, said that Illinois College students have helped file hundreds of returns while gaining hands-on professional experience in accounting for over 30 years.
